In the role of Manager, Brand Public Relations working in Toronto, you will be part of the Molson Coors Communications team. We are on a mission to build brands that more people want to hang out with – that means embedding our brands into culture and having the bravery to do breakthrough work, that matters, and that people will care about. This role is responsible for amplifying our core portfolio of brands through the creation and execution of consumer PR programs, both specific to Canada and often relevant to broader North American campaign work.  You will be working with great people across our organization to deliver work you can be proud of and results that will make a difference.


This position reports to a Director, Brand Relations and works closely with the broader Communications, Marketing and Commercial teams, here in Canada and in the US.


What will you do?  

Accelerate Molson Coors Canada’s ambitions to become First Choice for Consumers and Customers by crafting the Brand PR Managers strategic deliverables:

  • Develops and executes strategic PR plans integrating brand plans, launch initiatives, sponsorships, promotions and other major brand initiatives for internal and external audiences
  • Generates greater awareness of and excitement for the brand among key audiences
  • Monitors, identifies and assess competitive trends and activities from a public relations POV and provides appropriate feedback to internal clients on potential impact to Molson Coors programs
  • Ensures internal communication is provided in timely, consistent and effective manner, working with brand, employee communication and corporate communications
  • Develops, updates and delivers brand and promotional messages to consumer affairs on a regular basis
  • Media relations counsel, outreach and support with consumer, business and trade news media outlets across mediums
  • Handle media relations for the brand; develop key messages; prep senior management, brand and others in advance of any interviews.

Who are we looking for?  

  • Thorough knowledge of the beverage industry and a finger on the pulse of consumer trends.
  • Detailed-oriented with demonstrated abilities to execute on plans.  Ability to work with complex and sensitive information, deliver and excel under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, and at a minimum, conversational in French-language.
  • Thorough understanding of how the sales and commercialization system operates and how it relates to the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of broad corporate issues facing a regulated industry
  • Must possess superior communications skills including excellent writing and editing skills; speechwriting, scripting/presentations.
  • Strong judgment skills.  Ability to manage issues and assess risks.
  • Strong ability to determine and understand the communication needs of field sales.
  • Ability to manage a number of programs/projects simultaneously, set priorities and communicate needs within a team environment.  Able to be hands-on as well as strategic.  A team player who can lead by example, with high accountability for his/her actions.
  • Ability to manage change into a competitive advantage; ability to adapt quickly and demonstrate flexibility in approach to assigned projects
  • Ability to identify and develop talent
