Crafted Highlights: 

In the role of Assistant General Counsel, working in Toronto, Ontario, you will be part of the Americas Legal & Government Affairs team. You will provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of sales trade practice matters.

This role reports to the Associate General Counsel - Canada and works closely with leaders across the organization.

What You’ll Be Brewing: 

 

  • You will lead a team of talented colleagues and support their growth and development through career discussions and consistent one-on-one conversations 
  • Provide legal counsel and risk assessment to the Canadian sales teams on diverse legal matters including but not limited to sales, trade practice, pricing,  shopper marketing, and revenue management to ensure alignment of risk tolerance.                          
  • Collaborate with commercial leaders to review, draft, amend and negotiate legal documents, agreements, and commercial transactions to ensure favorable terms for the Company and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.                             
  • Represent Molson Coors on a variety of complex matters, contractual transactions, and lead all dispute resolution by sharing clear, well-reasoned, and creative recommendations so that decision makers are fully informed, and ramifications of options are presented.                           
  • Develop & improve contract management workflows, procedures, templates & playbooks.                

 

Key Ingredients:

  • You have a law degree and a member in good standing of a provincial bar.                        
  • You have at least 8 years in both law firm and in-house experience preferably with a CPG company.

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory and commercial issues related to the beverage industry or other consumer packaged goods.                                  
  • You have experience working within large teams on complex and pressurized issues and influencing executives and senior leadership.                                        
  • You consider a broad range of internal and external factors to gain insight into the current business environment.                                           
  • You adjust direction and take risks based on industry, market, and business strategy insights.                                               
  • You have sound and proven technical legal ability combined with strong business awareness and the ability to articulate complex legal issues.                               
  • You proactively and accurately analyze and manage legal risks and efficiently resolve disputes.                                               
  • You effectively and competently draft and review a wide variety of agreements.
