The Headlines:
Molson Coors Beverage Company is currently recruiting for the position of Shift Engineer (Relief) for our St. John's brewery. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player who possesses outstanding communications skills and has strong problem-solving abilities. The candidate, who will provide relief operation of our powerhouse operations, will be comfortable in a fast paced, multi-tasked, consumer packaged goods environment.
The Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
- Work with a safety mindset and ensure brewery and Asset Care compliance with all relevant EH&S legislation and regulations
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Be self-motivated, hard-working and energetic
- Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and to complete repairs effectively and efficiently
- Willingness to champion a culture of proactive and preventative maintenance with safety, quality, and reliability as key priorities
- Lead the team's pursuit of continuous improvement under the umbrella of World Class Supply Chain (WCSC)
- Always operate in alignment with Our Purpose, Ambition and Values
The Shift Engineer will:
- Provide relief coverage (vacation, sick, etc.) of brewery shift engineers
- Work a 12-hour shift rotation including weekends and stat holidays
- Have proven abilities for the safe and efficient operation of the plant pressure systems including boilers and related equipment, refrigeration, CO2 and compressed air systems.
- Troubleshoot problems quickly to complete repairs effectively and efficiently
- Be dependable, with the ability to work overtime, including weekends, when necessary
- Participate in maintaining spare parts to ensure we can support any potential equipment failures
- Respond to any equipment downtime issues in the brewery and warehouse(s)
- Support equipment capital improvement projects in the brewery
- Be willing to train and backfill in packaging operations should the need arise
The Other Qualifications:
- Possess a Red Seal 3rd Class Inter-Provincial stationary engineering designation and current registration within the province of NL
- 5+ years’ experience in a combined pressure plant containing an ammonia refrigeration system
- Ability to participate in a culture of continuous improvement with an EHS mindset
- Preference will be given to candidate with dual tickets
- Project Management experience is an advantage
- Experience in an Asset Care department is a plus
- Mechanical experience / hydraulic and pneumatic systems an asset
- Experience in CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) is also an asset
