Molson Coors is currently seeking a Leave & Accommodation Business Partner, to join our team, based in Longueuil, Canada. Reporting directly to our Sr Manager Leave & Occupational Health Management, this role will be essential in maintaining business continuity, fostering a positive employee experience, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring legal compliance across our various locations within Canada (French required).
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
You with act as a strategic partner primarily accountable for the strategic management of managing medical leaves across Canada, including short term & long term disability, Accommodation, Workers Comp, RTW, and Maternity/Paternity leave.
In addition, this role educates HRBPs, Safety Managers, EHS Managers, and nursing staff on compliance with occupational health, surveillance programs, leave and accommodation laws and processes.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating and providing guidance on employee leave claims with HRBPs and Legal regarding employee leave claims or modified work schedules, answering questions ensuring they are informed about their rights, role, responsibilities, required documentation, and leave eligibility
- Overseeing and providing guidance on the end-to end leave process
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HRBPs and other stakeholders on the accommodation and leave processes
- Overseeing the return-to-work process, providing guidance to HR and managers on employee reintegration from leaves
- Delivering comprehensive leave management and accommodation process training to HR, Safety Managers, EHS Managers, and nursing staff
- Collaborate with Legal, Benefits and other key stakeholders in the development and revision of company leave and accommodation policies to ensure compliance applicable laws and regulations as part of the governance process
- Maintain a centralized database for tracking all leave cases, absences, and workplace injuries, return to work, and accommodation cases
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leave and accommodation management, disability management, workers’ compensation, or HR business partnering roles
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, Nursing, Public Health, Safety Management, Human Resources, or related field
Competencies & Knowledge
- Ability to manage sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality regarding medical and personal information
- Ability to plan and organize accurate details and tasks in a timely, efficient, and effective manner, while overseeing a multitude of issues in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of employee rights and labor regulations across Canada
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, Safety, EHS, Legal, Benefits, and external providers
- Knowledge in occupational health and safety programs
- Thorough understanding of return-to-work processes and disability accommodations
