In the role of Contract Maintenance Team Lead working in The Fraser Valley Brewery, Chilliwack BC you will be part of the Technical Services dept. You will provide leadership for optimal functioning and reliability of Brewhouse assets and processes.
You will provide lead plant electrical, mechanical lead departmental operations towards the vision of a high-performance team culture and drive change management initiatives to continually improve both plant and process operations to meet World Class Operations Standards. You will contribute to the operations manager group on site developing short term tactics and contributing to the brewery strategy over 5-year horizon.
This position reports to Technical Services Manager and works closely with Line Lead, Process Lead, Skilled Trades, & Operators.
This is a contract role with the potential to become full time following completion of the contract.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Supervision and direction setting for maintenance trades (millwrights & electricians) across three shifts. Daily work assignment and follow up, coaching and performance management.
- Lead daily start of shift meetings for maintenance trades team. Review safety and production results for past 24 hours, assign work to trades and track completed vs outstanding work.
- Actively participate in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting as a member of the Line Trio. Report on execution of the daily maintenance plan, reporting results of the previous 24 hours: maintenance schedule attainment, number of breakdowns, Defects reported and repaired, completion of PM work orders.
- Deliver maintenance KPI’s, run to target progress, Health Checks and report on 90-day plan progress at the weekly & monthly Line Trio DDS’s.
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to develop a weekly maintenance schedule including preventative maintenance, corrective work and reported defects. Leverage the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling daily management system to track all work orders.
- Leverage the breakdown elimination process to determine the root cause of breakdowns and create countermeasures to prevent future losses. Deliver reduction in planned and unplanned downtime through execution of countermeasures from the breakdown and process failure processes.
- Develop and execute annual equipment overhauls. Including tasks prioritization, contractor selection. Align on equipment availability and priority with operations to complete required overhaul work. Deliver overhauls within annual budget allocation.
- Serve as a coach and resource for the line team and actively participate in Line DDS-DMS meeting. Act as the liaison between the Operational team and Maintenance team, provide maintenance support for the Equipment Ownership models.
Key Ingredients:
- Possess a proven track record leading trades and completing maintenance work in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable evidence of driving World Class Supply Initiatives to deliver on challenging objectives.
- It is preferred that you have a mechanical or electrical trade qualification.
- You will be experienced in asset care/maintenance and have previous work history in maintenance supervision or planning/scheduling.
- You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
- You are serious about delivering results, and take pride in a proven track record in delivering
- You are a motivated leader that can inspire others; you respect your commitments and are able to obtain optimal results from your team through respect and development
