Six Pints Collective is currently hiring for a Line Lead - Packaging to join the Packaging team, reporting to Unit Manager – Packaging, at the brewery in Creemore, ON. This role is an integral and fundamental part of production and our packaging team. This position is responsible for providing both leadership and support on the packaging lines. Additionally, the Packaging Line Lead works alongside the Packaging Manager and direct reports to ensure that all daily and weekly tasks are completed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rotating positions on all packaging lines, including training and support in those areas.
- Vacation coverage for Packaging Manager including attendance at key Operations Meeting as needed and ability to communicate daily challenges and priorities.
- Acting as a liaison between packaging line employees, direct reports and the manager; communicating issues and opportunities as they arise.
- Effectively & appropriately communicate challenges or barriers of the role with peers and Managers.
- Supporting the packaging manager with daily and weekly administrative tasks including inventory, scheduling, data input, quality control, root cause analyst for packaging holds and Quality requirements.
- Managing several packaging employees in terms of perfomance, growth, training and development, engagement in continuous improvement opportunities to help build ongoing operational improvements within the Dept
- Conduct direct report’s performance reviews and manage performance expectations in alignment with Dept Manager, Human Resources and MCBC Policies and Practises
- Support implementation of capex projects, SOP’s and Operator training as needed
- Understanding of packaging KPI’s, tracking and help facilitate achievement of goals within the Dept.
- Championing and supporting Quality initiatives throughout the department and the organization.
- Maintain paperwork, making changes or arranging for changes to be made.
- Receiving packaging materials, putting daily production records and other tasks in obeer
- Assist Full goods inventory bi-weekly and maintain inventory and production schedule.
- Maintain all SOP and end of day/end of week check lists.
- Assist in packaging daily/weekly volumes and scheduling employees.
- Diligently adhere to all Health & Safety standards as laid out by Creemore Springs Brewery.
- Lead/ Assist with the Health & Safety of the department and staff through regular communication, training, enforcement, inspection, incident investigation and improvement plans.
- Maintain accurate records of all Health & Safety related items, including incident reports, inspection reports, training sign off and employee communication.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two years production experience.
- Packaging leadership experience an asset.
- Proficiency of MS word and Excel, including ability to navigate and work with Excel on a daily basis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skill are required. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with fellow employees and operators on a daily basis to give direction, provide leadership, and understand concerns, and must be able to write clearly and concisely in order to formulate and maintain standard operating procedures and reports.
- Developed ability to reason through problems to find best possible solutions while looking at all variables.
- Proven ability to trouble-shoot, learn from mistakes, and consider the experiences and ideas of others in order to determine a course of action strongly desirable.
- Ability to think strategically and be a self-starter.
OTHER INFORMATION:
- This role will be based in Creemore, ON at the brewery.
- Shift work may be required; current schedule Monday to Friday; shift times: 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
- Requires flexibility to fill in for the team and when late work is required.
