Role Overview:


As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall management of capital project planning and execution for the Fraser Valley Brewery. You will be expected to be self-managing and resourceful in soliciting both the technical information as well as the people requirements for various projects. You will be required to be a leader in motivation and possess a high degree of people skills as well as financial prowess as our financial department is dependent a great deal on the individual’s ability to properly track costs.


As the Project Engineer you will be considered a subject matter expert and have advisory influence over technical direction and strategy in area of expertise. This position leads, supports and evaluates the work of subordinate process and project engineers and so has responsibility for resource management and work allocation.


You will need to monitor the progress of multiple/simultaneous projects impacting one or more components of the facility production processes, lend leadership assistance to staff and interface with senior Brewery management to ensures that all projects accomplish projected World Class Supply Chain (WCSC) improvements.



What You Will Be Accountable For:


  • Managing capital project engineering and execution for the brewery.
  • Leading the Molson Coors Brilliant Execution for Capital Project Process that governs all capital projects from concept to post project review.
  • Ensuring that quality, cost and other performance criteria are met for projects while conforming to regulatory and accreditation standards. This includes a responsibility to audit performance and to check compliance with these rules.
  • Working with operational, business and marketing teams to identify current and future CAPEX business requirement specifications.
  • Using good project management principles of cost, schedule, performance, risk, planning, integration, scope, quality, human resources, communication, safety, asset care, EH&S impact and procurement to formulate capital planning proposals for inclusion in the brewery LRP.
  • Ensuring that product quality standards are met.
  • Ensuring design compliance with all legislative and corporate responsibility requirements.
  • Guiding and monitoring team members' performance to facilitate the achievement of team goals.
  • Effectively supporting team members development and performance through training, facilitation and coaching support.
  • Developing solutions to complex problems which require extensive research, sophisticated analytical thought, ingenuity and innovation.
  • Demonstrating skilled application and knowledge of project management processes including: reporting/tracking of project costs, schedule, scope and risk identification/mitigation.
  • Suggesting ways to improve project execution
  • Providing oversight to external resources to deliver time, cost and performance objectives of the project.
  • Managing projects to safely shutdown the process, implement change and then bring the process back up seamlessly while minimizing impact on production targets/schedules.
  • Ensuring that all legal compliance requirements are met

If You Have The Following…We Want To Hear From You!


  • BA/BS in engineering.
  • Professional Engineering designation within the province (or working towards P.Eng.) – preferred.
  • 4-6 years of direct experience.
  • Direct experience in managing large scale capital projects.
  • Is knowledgeable on all relevant hygiene, health and safety legislation (including environmental), and on safe working procedures.
  • General Certificate in packaging and/or brewing is an asset but not required.
