The Headlines:

 

Based in the Chilliwack Brewery, the Warehouse Team Lead will be responsible for supervising a crew of 12-16 unionized Warehouse employees in day to day operations.  The successful candidate will ensure that all incoming materials (empty glass and cans) and outgoing product are in accordance with the specifications as outlined in the supporting paperwork (i.e. quantity, shipping instructions, brand, SKU, etc.).

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that a safe, clean and orderly warehouse is maintained at all times inclusive of the fork truck operator training and safe operation methods.
  • Ensures all incoming material (empty glass, BRI Returns etc.) is received and stored in a safe manner and in the proper place in accordance with the parameter set in the WMS.
  • Work with Packaging to ensure proper performance of the palletizers.
  • Exhibit an insisting attitude when dealing with corrective action directions and execution.
  • Ensures that the finished product from all Packaging lines are stored/shipped in a safe manner and in the proper place in accordance with the correct parameters.
  • Ensures contractual obligations of the Collective Agreement are met.
  • Communication with other departments (i.e. Logistics, Fleet and Packaging) to ensure efficient operation of the Brewery.
  • Assists in attaining and tracking departmental KPI’s, and transition into 5S program initiatives.
  • Monitors adherence to training plan for department
  • Supports the Warehouse Manager's initiatives in creating a team environment and coaching.
  • Conduct Health and Safety Talks as required and follows up on all H&S requirements.
  • Utilize absenteeism program to manage employees’ attendance.
  • Ensure fork trucks are maintained by utilizing fork truck check sheets.
  • Other Duties as assigned

The Other Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or College Diploma in Distribution/Logistics OR High School equivalent with 5-7 years manufacturing experience preferred
  • Process knowledge through 5 years or more experience in a related field 
  • Experience with SAP would be an asset
  • Experience supervising employees in an unionized environment is considered an asset  
  • Knowledgeable on all relevant hygiene, health and safety legislation (including environmental), and on safe working procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership maturity, self-awareness, confidence and courage in adapting to the local, regional, and global needs of the business.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
