The Headlines:

Based in the Fraser Valley Brewery, the Distribution and Warehouse Manager will oversee all aspects of Distribution and Warehousing activities that takes place in Western Canada. This includes the management of the Fraser Valley Brewery Warehouse, the Mainland Beverage Distribution, and is accountable for overseeing the Molson Coors operations within our distribution joint venture, Brewers Distributors Ltd.

 

As such, this role is the single point of accountability to any matter relating to getting product to our customers in Western Canada. This individual will continuously evaluate our Route to Market for the ever-changing portfolio of products being brought in the 4 Western Provinces and each of their own specificity when it comes to their legislative landscape. You are required to continually monitor/assess all activities and implement the most effective & efficient use of all resources, people, and equipment to consistently provide exceptional service to all of our customers.  

 

This role is part of the Brewery Management Team. In this function it is expected to become a Pillar owner of the World Class Suplly Chain which is based on the Integrated Work System from P&G. 

 

The Responsibilities

  • Drive creation & execution of a robust strategic, tactical plan that drives significant cost reduction to keep year over year flat in all 3 business under the scope following the WCSC methodology

  • Proactively manage our direct distribution team, providing us a major competitive advantage through superior customer service and quality control

  • Monitor and manage the service level agreement with our 3PL

  • Act as liaison with the Production and Deployment teams to ensure the efficient and timely receiving of packaging materials and the movement of finished goods, including the scheduling of carriers and personnel to achieve this

  • Implement KPI supplied by the new EWMS to identify areas of improvement and applies the WCSC methodology to implement standards leading to improved results

  • Leverage the utilization of the FVB warehouse into the Western Canada Logistics process to drive significant cost savings to the organization

  • Own & manage the AOP for the Fraser Valley Brewery and the Mainland Beverage Distribution

  • Own the Western Canada Distribution Scorecard and improvement glidepath linked to it

  • Drive best practices in Ways of Working into the MCBC distribution process including 3PL while leveraging One North America tools for bench marking

  • Represents Molson Coors interest in this joint venture through the Industry Logistics Council, making sure the current/future performance of BDL is in the best interest of MCBC

  • Actively participate in the BDL LRP by providing guidance, support, point of view to improve the business in respect of MCBC LRP

  • Track and manage the full goods losses throughout Western Canada and work with the Customer Service Excellence team to implement measures to improve

  • Develop and Coach the team to ensure they have a strong development plans and a good succession plan

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree, other appropriate University degree, or comparable skills & experience
  • 15+ years in a FMCG Supply Chain, with a Distribution & Warehousing Management expertise

  • Experience managing or leading business with a unionized workforce

  • Experience in an EWMS/SAP environment and leveraging it to drive improvement
  • Working knowledge of Highway Traffic Act and OH&S Act
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Proven ability to trouble-shoot, learn from mistakes, and consider the experiences and ideas of others in order to determine a course of action strongly desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
