The Headlines

In the role of SAP Technical Manager on our Controls and Governance team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you will participate in the ownership and facilitation of internal control / Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes with a focus on segregation of duties (SOD) security access and related processes supporting our financial systems. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Controls and Governance and is a part of our Controller group.


In addition, Molson Coors is in the process of an expansive SAP project which includes enhanced controls across the business as part of this exciting transformational initiative. This role will play an integral part in evaluating changes to the control environment as implementations occur, focusing on resolving SOD conflicts, analyzing SAP t-codes, security role and container creation and revision requests, working closely with IT and the business to ensure a thorough understanding of the request to enable an informed decision, resulting in a well-controlled SAP environment.


The Responsibilities:

  • Analyze all new SAP roles and changes to existing positions to ensure compliance with all SOD guidelines.
  • Analyze and review all custom t-code requests to ensure appropriateness, mapping to the applicable SOD ruleset.
  • Ensure appropriate SOD analysis and implementation through IT applications. This includes second level review for existing role requests, as well as initial review for any newly created roles or custom t-codes.
  • Support risk owners in managing approved SOD conflicts and identifying and performing mitigating controls.  This includes managing the risk assessment process, ensuring that all approved risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Review activity and object levels within t-code access to ensure appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance to controls with respect to positions within the Access Management tool and assist in coordinating changes in the access for positions, based on business need.  This entails working with the business to ensure that access is appropriate for the users.
  • Manage and oversee the quarterly user access review (UAR) process per SOX requirements.
  • Review existing SAP roles and t-codes within roles on a periodic basis to ensure that they are still in use and appropriate. 
  • Drive the global alignment of controls across Molson Coors.


The Qualifications:

  • A relative 4-year degree and 8+ years of accounting process and controls experience; public accounting and/or beverage or manufacturing company preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT controls, auditing, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and internal controls (CPA or CIA preferred).
  • Extensive SAP business process knowledge, including a proven record of success with assisting clients in the improvement of SAP-related business processes.
  • Advanced understanding of SAP SOD risks and experience mitigating SAP SOD conflicts.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP business process, user provisioning processes, and security maintenance processes and leading practices.
  • Experience using and managing SAP GRC Access Control suite of products including Risk Analysis & Remediation, Compliant User Provisioning, Superuser Privilege Management, and Enterprise-wide Role Management.
  • Technical understanding of security build and requirements analysis/definition across multiple SAP systems (e.g., ECC, BI/BW, CRM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of data Governance process, with emphasis on Finance Master Data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting and communicating processes, including communication using Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and drive change.
  • Ability to successfully complete and manage complex projects quickly and adeptly with an understanding of the business priorities.
  • A diplomatic, professional demeanor, exercising great judgement in developing and maintaining excellent relationships within the business.
  • Strong ability to work independently and with cross functional teams.
