Finance Controller

 

Based:  Sofia, Bulgaria

Reports to: Finance Director

Direct reports: Yes

 

What will you do:

 

  • Own all financial reporting activities, including monthly financial statements, rolling monthly forecasts, and budgeting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of management information packs for the Country Leadership Team (CLT) and the Consolidation Team. This includes P&L, profitability, balance sheet, working capital, cash flow, Opex, and Capex.
  • Deliver clear, timely, and accurate financial analysis, providing insights into company results and forecasts to support strategic and operational decision-making by the CLT and Consolidation Team.
  • Partner with the CLT to ensure visibility of performance, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with Commercial Functions to influence and support improvements in commercial performance.
  • Lead and organize financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Ensure delivery and central coordination of longrange plans and annual operating plans. Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, methodology, and integrated business planning, while proactively identifying cash opportunities.
  • Oversee the control environment, ensure SOX compliance, and drive initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance organization. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting and promote best practices in balance sheet reconciliations. Collaborate with managers and staff at all levels to ensure financial and business processes, systems, and controls are robust and efficient.
  • Drive standardization and process/reporting improvements across the country.
  • Collaborate with outsourced partners, shared service centers, and external auditors.
  • Serve as the technical accounting expert for both local GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Lead the Commercial Finance and FP&R teams to ensure delivery of highquality service.

 

If you have the following … we want to hear from you!

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Master’s degree or ACCA, CFA, CIMA qualification is an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role; previous experience within the FMCG sector is considered an advantage
  • Solid experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong experience with data analysis tools, preferably Power BI and DAX programming
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proven people management and leadership capabilities
  • Excellent command of English
